Environmental consultancy

Environmental impact assessments and addenda, monitoring and audits, and the permits that go with them: coastal modification (AP-2), dredging and reclamation, and RO plant registration.

SIDCO has worked on 100+ EIAs (an approximate count) for buildings, roads, resorts, coastal works, reclamation and utilities. Our registered EIA consultants take a project from screening to the decision note, and stay with it through monitoring.

Environmental impact assessment

  1. Screening, to confirm whether an EIA is needed
  2. Scoping meeting and terms of reference
  3. Baseline surveys, see environmental field surveys
  4. Impact assessment, including alternatives
  5. Mitigation, management and monitoring plans
  6. Stakeholder consultation and a grievance mechanism
  7. Submission, review and the EIA decision note

After approval

  • EIA addenda when the design or the method changes
  • Environmental monitoring reports, to the schedule set in the decision note (for example quarterly in the first year, then yearly)
  • Environmental audits

Permits

  • Coastal modification (AP-2): groynes, revetments, jetties, beach works and other changes to the shoreline or lagoon.
  • Dredging and reclamation: applications now include shapefiles of the dredging and reclamation boundaries, volumes and schedule, and a landscaping plan.
  • Desalination (RO) plant registration: application, plant layout, commitment letters, and water quality analysis arranged with a qualified laboratory.

The laws behind each permit, in plain words: regulations and permits.
